What Is Oil Cleansing?
Using natural oils to gently clean skin makes a lot of sense, if you think about it "like dissolves like". You use natural oils to cleanse and naturally balance the skin’s natural oils. This makes skin more nourished and moisturized than chemical-based face wash.
Carrier oils help dissolve the impurities hiding in your pores. Warm water then opens up the pores so the grime and sebum are easily removed.
It's also been stated that it can help with oily skin, dry skin, sensitive skin, blackheads, and whiteheads. The types of oil you choose depend on your own skin type.
Oh, and did I mention, it also removes your makeup, so your already saving time and money by skipping a step in your routine.

Base Oils
These are oils to use in larger amounts along with the castor oil.
Avocado oil – Use for combination, dry, or mature skin.
Grapeseed oil – Lightweight oil, good for oily or acne-prone skin.
Sunflower oil – Lightweight, good for combination or oily skin.
Sweet almond oil – Use for oily, sensitive, or combination skin.
Coconut oil – Some like it, some don't. It can be drying and pore-clogging, especially for acne, but some love it in skincare products.
Olive Oil– Best for mature or dry skin. Make sure to use real olive oil, most of what’s in the store is mixed with other, cheaper oils.
Specialty Carrier Oils
These you can add to customization to your Oil Cleansing blend. They’re packed with skin-loving nutrients. Just a little bit added to your oil blend brings big benefits.
Rosehip oil – An astringent oil, used for more oily skin types, in smaller amounts, also good for anti-aging. Loaded with vitamins A and C to help with scar tissue, blemishes, and wrinkles.
Argan oil – Loaded with vitamins A and E, antioxidants, and linoleic acid. It’s emollient, helps protect against free radical damage, is anti-aging and moisturizing.
Jojoba oil – Closest to skin’s natural sebum, has vitamins E and B as well as minerals. Non-comedagenic, won't clog pores, great for all skin types.
Essential oils – These ARE NOT carrier oils, but they offer additional skin benefits to help with anti-aging, inflammation, and blemishes. Some of the best are lavender, tea tree, frankincense, sweet orange, and eucalyptus. Just add a drop or two to your blend, shake and apply. (avoid the eyes!).
